Tenerife Opera presents Hamlet, Ambroise Thomas's French production brings this Shakespearean tragedy to life in the form of a five-act opera.

Hamlet and Ophelie inhabit a court where corruption is blatant, yet disguised as protocol and good manners. Everyone knows something, everyone keeps something to themselves. He is suffocated by the obligation to avenge and the horror of carrying it out; she is lost in the impossibility of being heard. Silence here is not the absence of words, but an excess of lies, half-truths, and manipulations. Like our own time, where information overload coexists with a lack of trust and genuine listening. Amidst ghosts, intrigues, and inner monologues, the world seems immense and silent.

This opera is performed sung in French with surtitles in Spanish and English.
