Carmen It is the last opera and the great masterpiece of Georges Bizet, undoubtedly the most popular French opera today and one of the most performed in the world.
The story takes place in Andalusia, where the love affair between a sensual and free-spirited gypsy, Carmen, and a strict and closed-minded soldier, Don José, ends in tragedy when he kills her because he cannot accept that she, who has always been guided by her instincts, has left him for another man. Carmen It is a true fresco of the Andalusian atmosphere around 1830, with a mixture of soldiers, smugglers, bullfighters and gypsies, in which the brilliance of the music presents us with a seductive fresco that hypnotizes the audience until the tragic final climax with the death, undoubtedly heroic, of the seductive gypsy Carmen.
Carmen It is a passionate and vibrant opera, with unforgettable musical episodes such as the Habanera wave Song of the Toreador, which becomes a tragedy driven by love and freedom.
