Spanish tenor Joan Laínez is developing a career in the Italian and French lyric-spinto repertoire, distinguished by the dramatic intensity of his interpretations and the breadth of his vocal timbre.

His roles include Radamès (Aida), Pollione (Norma), Don José (Carmen), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana), Canio (Pagliacci), Don Carlo (Don Carlo), Steuermann (Der fliegende Holländer) and Javier (Luisa Fernanda).

He has performed Radamès at Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo and Don José with Òpera de Catalunya, and has appeared in productions of Der fliegende Holländer with Ópera de Tenerife and at the Teatre Principal de Palma.

During the current season he performs Radamès (Aida) at Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville and Pollione (Norma) at Teatro Fusco in Taranto.Upcoming repertoire includes Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Števa (Jenůfa) by Janáček and his zarzuela debut as Fernando (Doña Francisquita).
His repertoire continues to expand with new roles including Des Grieux (Manon Lescaut), Don Álvaro (La forza del destino), Števa Buryja (Jenůfa) by Leoš Janáček, and his zarzuela debut as Fernando in Doña Francisquita.

Joan Laínez has received awards in several international singing competitions, including First Prize at the Grandi Voci International Opera Competition in Salzburg, Second Prize and Audience Prize at Corsica Lirica, Second Prize at the Bellano Paese degli Artisti International Competition, and the Audience Prize at the Jole De Maria Competition.

She began her vocal studies with Joana Llabrés and Manuel Velasco, and continues her vocal training under the guidance of baritone David Menéndez, with whom she currently works. In the musical field, she regularly collaborates with accompanist pianists such as Maria Victòria Cortés, Borja Mariño, and Edoardo Barsotti.

Born in Llucmajor, Mallorca, Laínez continues to develop his career in European theaters, progressively expanding his repertoire within the lyric-spinto repertoire.
